Official Green City partner agencies

Are you interested in urban sustainability and would like to visit Freiburg, but need assistance planning your itinerary? Do you want to get to know all of the Green City’s many facets and are therefore looking for a suitable guide for your group or delegation?

The City of Freiburg has been collaborating for many years with four agencies that focus on Green City issues. In 2011, the Freiburg City Council passed a resolution that turned the collaboration into an official partnership. Pursuant to the cooperation agreement, the agencies Innovation Academy, Aiforia, Freiburg Future Lab, and OSM Maeda have held the title “official partner of the City of Freiburg im Breisgau – Green City” ever since.

In cooperation with the City of Freiburg, the partner agencies organize guided tours, lectures, workshops, and training courses on all topics related to the Green City. They impart knowledge on sustainable urban planning, renewable energies, mobility, climate protection, and sustainable agriculture using concrete examples in Freiburg—including in the internationally renowned Vauban district.

The agencies all meet defined quality standards and receive regular training on new concepts, resolutions, and developments in Freiburg’s individual areas of focus, which ensures that the information speakers share with green (expert) visitors to Freiburg is always up to date and that visitors are in the best and most professional hands.
