Green City Office
As a “Green City,” Freiburg has become a model for many cities and communities across the globe. Each year, more than 25,000 expert visitors from some 45 nations visit the city to get to know its many model projects and to learn more about the ideas behind them.
In 2008, the Green City Office was established within Freiburg’s city administration with the aim of coordinating all visitor delegations from politics, municipal administration, and the media from one central location. Since 2011, four official Green City Freiburg partner agencies have been providing a further helping hand. Together, they prepare customized itineraries for expert visitors from all over the world.
Invitations to events that focus on green cities and sustainable living can also be directed to our office.
The Green City Office is based in the city administration’s International Affairs Division in Department I, headed by Mayor Martin W.W. Horn.
