Green Industry Park

As part of the update of the Freiburg climate protection concept in 2019, the city decided to include another Freiburg industrial area in the GIP project. The companies in the Hochdorf industrial area now have the opportunity to work with the GIP partners to further develop the industrial and commercial area in terms of energy. The further development is intended to reduce the city's CO2 emissions in the long term.

The aim of the GIP approach is to upgrade the Hochdorf industrial park to a future-oriented and climate-friendly location by the companies themselves. The GIP network and the city of Freiburg support cross-company initiatives to improve the CO2 balance through targeted advice, information and network building.

The GIP process began in October 2019 with a kick-off and information event. The first ideas for more climate protection in the area were developed. A climate protection concept is being developed under the leadership of the "Energieagentur Regio Freiburg" and will be presented in March 2021. The data was collected using an online questionnaire and "KEFF" efficiency checks in companies on site.

In the early summer of 2021, an innovative program called GIP project coaching will begin. Interested companies in GIP Hochdorf have the opportunity to work on their own options for action in implementation-oriented workshops on a topic-specific basis. The workshops are followed by individual project coaching with the aim of preparing concrete implementation planning.
